One core, many systems
Every PHOENIX system runs on the same core. What the core does, what a system adds, how we manage it, and why it matters to you.
Most business software is built from scratch for each trade, and each product reinvents accounting, users, invoices and hosting. We do it the other way round: we build the hard, shared parts once, in one core, and every business system we make sits on top of it.
The layers
| Layer | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Your site | Your own private site and database, with your brand, used by your team and your clients | Available |
| Industry pack | Extra fields, checklists and sample data for one trade inside a system (for example cars or clothes in Sourcing) | Coming 2027 |
| System | The workflow of one trade, for example Sourcing Management | Sourcing available |
| PHOENIX Cloud | The core: the demo, sign-in, billing, setting up your site, your brand and the add-ons | Available |
| ERPNext | The open-source ERP underneath: accounts, customers, suppliers, stock, buying, selling and projects | Available |
You only ever see the top: your site, with your name on it. The layers below are what make it reliable.
What the core gives every system
- A private site per company. Your own site, database and files. Nothing is shared with another company. See Your own site.
- A full ERP underneath. Double-entry accounting, invoices in any currency, stock, buying, selling and reports. See The ERP underneath.
- Users and roles. Your team and your clients, each seeing only what they should. See Users and roles.
- Your brand. Your logo, colours and favicon on what your team and your clients see. See Your brand.
- Run by us. Hosting, HTTPS, updates, backups and support. See How the core works.
What a system adds
A system adds the screens, rules and documents of one trade. Sourcing Management adds:
| From the core | Added by Sourcing Management |
|---|---|
| Customers, suppliers, accounting, invoices in any currency | Client requests with photos, quantities and target prices |
| Users, roles and permissions | Factory profiles: categories, MOQ, lead times, licences, WeChat, rating |
| Your brand on the login page and the back office | A client portal that hides your factories |
| Reports and dashboards | Commission, markup and factory rebate, or a mix |
How we manage it
- One core, tested once, updated for everyone. A fix or improvement in the core reaches every system and every customer.
- Each system is its own app installed on top of the core. Adding a new system does not change the core or the sites of existing customers. See How new systems are added.
- Each customer is isolated. One site and one database per company, set up automatically by the core.
- We run all of it. Setting up sites, updates, backups and monitoring are our job, not yours.
Why it matters to you
- A proven base. Your accounting and stock run on ERPNext, an open-source ERP used by companies around the world, not on code written last month.
- You grow on the same site. New features arrive on the site you already use; you do not move to new software.
- No lock-in. The software underneath is open source and your data can be exported at any time. See Your data.
- One supplier. One contract, one invoice and one support team for the whole stack.
